Lions Cup 2027: Take Your Game to Prague
Kapusta Hockey Academy is heading back to the Czech Republic, and this time we're bringing a roster to the Lions Cup in Prague. From April 3–12, 2027, players born in 2012–2013 will train, compete and explore one of the best hockey countries in the world, all in one trip.
What is the Lions Cup?
The Lions Cup is an international youth tournament in Prague that puts North American players up against top European competition. Every player is guaranteed at least four tournament games against international teams, plus five KHA Euro Camp training sessions before the puck drops.
It's more than a tournament. Players get a real taste of the European game: the pace, the skill, the hockey culture. That's experience you can't get at home.
Who's coaching
Training is led by Tomas Kapusta, a former NHL draft pick, Czech National Team player and Olympian, alongside former USPHL player Ondrej Vaculik. A specialized goaltending coach rounds out the staff, so goalies get dedicated work too.
Who can play
The Lions Cup roster is open to boys born in 2012 and 2013. Up to three 2011-born players are allowed. Spots are limited.
What's included
The full USA package handles nearly everything, so families can focus on the experience:
- Transportation
- Pre-tournament training at Kapka Resort, a training facility set in the Czech countryside
- Breakfast and lunch
- Tournament fees
- Hotel accommodations
- KHA jersey and socks
A trip for the whole family
Parents and siblings aren't left on the sidelines. The trip includes cultural tours for families, with time in Prague and the Czech countryside between games. It's the kind of trip your player will talk about for years.
